Matthew 26:6-10 (ESV)

Now when Jesus was at Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, a woman came up to him with an alabaster flask of very expensive ointment, and she poured it on his head as he reclined at the table. And when his disciples saw it, they were indignant, saying, “Why this waste.” For this could have been sold for a large sum and given to the poor.” But Jesus aware of this, said to them, “Why do you trouble this woman? For she has done a beautiful thing to me.”

In a darkened world

Growing darker still

Living to surprise by grace

Brings an internal righteous, joyous exuberation

To the true Child of God who has been

Exorbitantly loved, forgiven, recieved and restored.

In a darkened world

Growing darker still,

May we live out the gospel  and honor our Lord and Savior

By emptying out the fragrant alabaster boxes of our redemption

And honorably surprise by grace all those who seek

To redemptively and restoratively love and serve the sinner and the saint.
